Carl Fletcher has been sacked by Leyton Orient after less than a month in charge.
The O’s have confirmed they have parted company with the former Bournemouth loan manager following their shock FA Cup first round exit to Maldon & Tiptree on Sunday.
Fletcher only took charge of Orient from interim coach Ross Embleton last month and was handed a two-year deal, but they remain just seven points above the relegation zone after two draws and three defeats during his brief spell as manager.
Embleton will take control of the first team once again, assisted by Danny Webb and Jobi McAnuff.
A short statement from Orient chairman Nigel Travis confirming the sacking was posted on the club website.
It reads: “It’s unfortunate for the club that we have parted company with Carl after such a short time, particularly as we are a club that tries to preserve stability.
“However, we felt this was in the best interests of all parties and we thank him for his hard work and wish him every success in the future.”
