Striker Macauley Bonne has left Leyton Orient to join newly promoted Championship side Charlton Athletic.
The Addicks, who were promoted to the second tier after their League One lay-off final win over Sunderland, activated the forward’s release clause following Orient’s return to the Football League.
Bonne finished the 2018/19 National League season as the third top scorer with 23, behind Eastleigh’s Paul McCallum and Danny Rowe of AFC Fylde, both on 27, and Charlton will have been keen to get a prolific striker in after selling Karlan Grant to Huddersfield Town in January.
In total, Bonne scored 49 goals in 102 games for the O’s during an excellent two-year spell and ranks among the club’s greatest goalscorers.
