Two members of Leyton Orient's squad will be unable to be included in the squad for tomorrow's FA Trophy final, the club have confirmed.

Orient entered into discussions with The FA and fellow finalists AFC Fylde over three weeks ago regarding each team being able to name seven substitutes rather than the usual five permitted in the National League.

The FA confirmed that if an agreement could be made with Fylde then a vote would be held on the matter and, while an agreement was made, the sub-committee vote rejected the proposal.

In a statement on the club's website, Leyton Orient said: "The Club were left unsatisfied with this response and permission was only granted on this matter today (Saturday, 18 May) and as AFC Fylde had already departed, they were unable to agree to the terms.

"The Club are therefore left disappointed that two members of the O’s squad will be unable to feature on the bench and potentially miss out on minutes in a potentially once-in-a-career opportunity at a Wembley cup final."
