Tottenham have confirmed the signing of defender Ryan Nelsen.
Having spent seven years with Blackburn Rovers, the New Zealander was released on Tuesday after he and the club agreed to a termination of his contract and has now linked up with the north London side.
Nelsen captained his country at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, the Kiwis famously remaining unbeaten in the tournament.
The former DC United man will give Harry Redknapp an extra option at the back after Sebastien Bassong made a loan switch to Wolves.
