Rudi Voller has claimed Vedran Corluka “fits perfectly with our requirements” after the Spurs defender joined Bayer Leverkusen on loan for the rest of the season.
The Croatian international has found his first-team opportunities limited this season, making only three in the Premier League, but has moved to Germany to get regular action before the Euro 2012 finals.
Former German international striker Voller, who is Leverkusen’s sporting director, told the club’s official website: “Corluka brings the experience of 52 international matches to Leverkusen and fits perfectly with our requirements.
“He can not only be used on the right side, but also in the middle or at left-back. We are very pleased that we were able to agree this deal.”
