Spurs have failed in an attempt to sign French star Loic Remy, it is claimed.
Marseille chairman Vincent Laburne has reportedly said the club turned down an offer in the region of £18m for the striker.
The 25-year-old, who joined Marseille for around £12m from Nice in August 2010, had previously been linked with Tottenham’s North London rivals Arsenal.
Arsene Wenger was thought to remain keen on the player but Spurs were widely tipped as the front-runners to sign the French international if he moved on this month.
