Sporting Bengal United earned the local bragging rights against Athletic Newham in their Essex Senior League derby.

Beaten 4-0 by leaders Woodford Town on Saturday, they took the lead after 14 minutes at Mile End Stadium when Daniel Okah found Keanu Hill on the right and he chested the ball down before lobbing the keeper.

The home side doubled their lead three minutes before half-time when Rian Patel saw his 25-yard effort come back off a post and Chaka Barnett converted the rebound.

And it was 3-0 moments later when Damilola Olusesi won possession and Steve Carvell found Barnett, who teed up Kevin Krans for a first-time shot from the edge of the box.

Athletic Newham hit back from the penalty spot in the second half, but were left empty-handed on this occasion after a 4-0 win at White Ensign at the weekend.

They are set to welcome Ilford to the Terence McMillan Stadium on Saturday, while Sporting Bengal entertain FC Clacton.

Hackney Wick were celebrating after a 3-2 win at Cannons Wood in Thurlow Nunn League Division One South.

Frankie Hanmore fired home a fine free-kick for the visitors as the first half ended all square at 1-1.

But Wick were reduced to 10 men after the restart when Ben Lewis-Gold was dismissed for a second bookable offence.

Hanmore struck with another free-kick to put them 2-1 up and Mohammed Sebaihi made it 3-1, before Wood replied.

Wick are due to welcome Clapton Community to their Witham Town base on Saturday.

Hutton lost their top-of-the-table clash at leaders Dunmow Town and now find themselves three points behind their rivals having played one game more.

They took the lead at Scraley Road, but the hosts hit back to level before going down to 10 men early in the second half.

And Dunmow made light of their numerical disadvantage to score twice more to claim a 3-1 victory.

Enfield Borough were also beaten on their travels, going down 5-1 at Wormley Rovers after taking the lead with a fine free-kick.

Charncy Dash levelled for the home side, before George Beattie helped himself to four second-half goals.
