Ken Sema is targeting an improvement to his performances after Watford's 1-1 draw with Bournemouth at the weekend.

The Swedish international has been deployed in a more defensive role than he is used to, but understands that he has to adapt his game for the benefit of the team.

Speaking to the club website after the Cherries snatched a late point at the weekend, he said there was more still to come.

“I'm doing okay,” he said. “It's not too bad but I want to improve, always. There is more to come. I'm usually a winger, an offensive one, but if the coach likes me at wing back, I'll play there. If he likes me in a midfield three, I will do that, but I'm more of a winger, I'd say.

"You have to go deeper when you are playing wing-back and I can't go forward as much as I want to, but it's about the team first and then about me.

“It's a good start by the team. I am really happy about it and hope it continues like this, each and every game. It's a new team, we have a new coach, new players, younger players and older players so we have a bit of everything. Of course, there is room for improvement.”

Helping the team to improve is head coach Vladimir Ivic, who Sema described as "demanding".

Watford Observer:

The winger said he is enjoying the high-intensity work that Ivic is asking of him and that will be required from now until the summer if the Hornets are to achieve their goal of promotion to the Premier League.

“He wants to win each and every game and he's a coach who really wants it,” said Sema. “In training he is demanding, but I like it because I'm like this. You have to work each and every day, all the time, at the training ground, on the pitch and away from the pitch. I'm used to it and I like it. I'm enjoying it."
