Enfield Borough paid the price for their profligacy as they were beaten 2-0 by lowly Hillingdon Borough in Spartan South Midlands League Division One.

The hosts created enough chances to have won several games on Saturday, but they were punished by two sucker punches in the second half.

Philosophical joint manager Mani Asare said: “I can’t have a go at the players today as the performance was much better than last week. There was plenty of effort and endeavour out there, it was their decision making that let them down today. Shooting when they should have passed, passing when they should have shot, firing in the shots when they should have placing them would have been better.

“These things happen and we could have played until midnight and not scored. In other games our attack have won us the points, today their wastefulness cost us dearly.”

The pick of Borough’s chances saw an unmarked Richard Ennin head wide of a gaping goal in the first half before seeing another header incredibly kept out by the keeper after the break.

Two goals in three minutes clinched the points for Hillingdon as Frank Chandler diverted a cross into his own net and Rinidie Lokilo calmly clipped home the second soon after.
