Jose Mourinho confirmed that Tottenham have appealed Son Heung-min's red card against Chelsea.

The South Korea international was sent off in the second half of the 2-0 defeat after VAR ruled that he kicked out at Antonio Rudiger - an incident which played its part in Rudiger being racially abused.

Mourinho confirmed to the PA news agency that the club would appeal it and said: "I hope Son is not punished five times.

"One time was the foul that Rudiger did on him. The second is to be sent off.

"The third would be not to play against Brighton. The fourth not to play against Norwich and the fifth not to play against Southampton.

"So I think to be punished twice is enough."
