It was a case of same again for West Herts men’s first team as they continued their winning run at home to Chelmsford with a comfortable 8-3 victory.

Only 10 minutes had been played when Herts opened the scoring after Dan Webster converted from a penalty corner.

Captain Bill Gage doubled the home side’s advantage soon after, but Chelmsford hit back with a well-worked goal to make it 2-1.

Max Webster restored Herts’ two-goal lead seconds later after great build-up play from George Thomas.

The hosts then dismantled Chelmsford in a ruthless second-half showing to take their goalscoring tally to 34 in just four matches.

Dan and Max Webster both grabbed hat-tricks, with Josh Ramsay and Callum Till the other scorers.

In East Division 1, West Herts men’s Seconds battled back from 2-0 down to secure a good point away at Bedford.

West Herts Men’s third team were also playing Bedford, but they fell to a 5-3 home defeat.

Meanwhile, it was a first defeat of the season for the fourths, who were beaten 4-2 away against Hertford’s third team.

Kicking off the New Field match schedule were the men’s fifth team, however an understrength side lost out 6-1 on the day.

Completing the men’s fixtures were the sixth side, who produced a superb display of hockey away at Hertford to come away 5-1 winners.

A man of the match performance saw Jason Mallory grab a hat-trick, with Colin Mannall and Freddie Edwards also notching.

West Herts women’s first team delivered a ruthless first-half display, scoring three goals in a 3-1 victory over Wapping Seconds.

Herts took advantage of a disorganised away side, who had managed to forget to bring their kit to the fixture and took an early lead courtesy of Rochelle Lewsey.

Wapping managed to recover, hitting back with an equaliser shortly after conceding.

The hosts regained the lead through Eleanor Trafford, who took on the Wapping keeper on the reverse and finished calmly into the far corner.

A move off the training ground manufactured Herts’ third, with Gabriella Holland finishing off a well-worked goal.

West Herts continued to dominate proceedings in the second half but failed to add to their tally.

It was a similar story for the Seconds, who won by the same scoreline away at Stevenage on a sluggish, sandy playing surface.

Conditions didn’t seem to hamper Herts’ performance as a Tanita Montgommery brace and another from Charlotte Collins helped to maintain a very successful season for the team.

Cathy Conroy’s fine goal wasn’t enough for West Herts women’s third side, who were beaten 3-1 at home to a clinical Bedford side.

Herts were arguably the better side, but their finishing let them down as the visitors scored two second-half goals to claim the win.

West Herts women’s Fourths lost out in a tight 1-0 affair at Leighton Buzzard, and the fifth team produced the result of the day against another Leighton Buzzard outfit, coming out 10-1 winners.
