Enfield Ignatians secured their second win of the season in London 3 North West with a 41-7 thrashing of Finchley.

Johnny Dixon scored a brace while Dom Knott, Ben Mills, Dave Gear and Michael Hall also got in on the act with tries, and Jake Bates’ first-half penalty also added to the score.

Knott was the first to go over early on and his try was successfully converted before Bates’ penalty gave Ignatians a 10-0 half-time lead.

The hosts allowed Finchley back into the game after the break with a converted try, but Ignatians ran riot afterward with a further five tries.

Dixon ran over twice as Enfield turned up the pressure and Mills was the next in line to score.

The returning Gear drove across after Jonathan Hamilton’s assist and Hall’s fine solo effort capped things off.

The side have a free week this Saturday but return to action on Saturday, October 19 with a tough derby fixture away at unbeaten Finsbury Park, who are joint-top of the division.
