Saturday’s local derby between Enfield FC and Enfield Borough in the FA Vase second qualifying round saw the latter edged out 2-1.

After the hosts had taken a two-goal lead, Richard Ennin pulled one back, but it wasn’t enough to mount a comeback.

Enfield took the lead after 34 minutes when Borough failed to clear Ben Bradbury’s free-kick, and Joe Pattison was on hand to fire in from eight yards.

The hosts effectively killed off the game with 15 minutes left to play when Bradbury wasn’t shut down on the right wing, and his cross fell right onto Olly Miles’ head to make it two.

Ennin pulled one back almost immediately when he crashed home from Mark Amaning-Ampong’s cross, but Enfield held on to go through.

They will face either Harborough Town or Hillingdon away in the first round proper, while Borough welcome league leader St Pantaleimon in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One this Saturday - a team that have already scored 32 goals in the league this season.
