New Salamis will host Eynesbury Rovers in the first round of the FA Vase after a comfortable 2-0 win over Tower Hamlets in the second qualifying round on Friday night.

Irnti Rapai curled in Salamis’ opener in the first half and that was added to in the second half by another bending finish, this time from Josh Grantham.

A strong start from Hamlets saw them smash the bar in the opening minutes, but the hosts took the lead when Sean Johnson’s ball fell to Rapai to cut inside and finish.

Salamis continued to dominate and deservedly doubled their lead midway through the second half when Grantham brilliantly curled around the defender.

The first round match will take place on Saturday, October 12 while next up is a home match in the Spartan South Midlands League Division One against Hillingdon Borough next Wednesday.
