Enfield Borough continued their preparations for the new Spartan South Midlands League Division One campaign with a 2-2 draw away at Division Two outfit Sarratt.

The visitors took an early and deserved lead, but Sarratt turned the game on its ahead after half time through Shaun Powell and Chris White. However, they couldn’t hold the lead and Borough levelled the game again to take a draw.

The away side took the lead after just a couple of minutes against the Hertfordshire side, finishing off a move down the right-hand side with a low finish from just inside the area.

Both sides made changes at half time in order to stay fresh and it made an immediate impact on the game. Just two minutes after the re-start, Sarratt were level when Powell chased down a woeful backpass and coolly finished into the bottom corner.

Then, just 13 minutes later, the Division Two side completed the turnaround as White snuck in at the back post to convert a low cross.

That lead, though, couldn’t be held, and Borough levelled proceedings three minutes later when a square ball across goal was finished with aplomb to finish the game at two apiece.
