Enfield Borough youngster Kayne James-Thompson has been signed by Southern Premier Central side Biggleswade Town.
The midfielder becomes the second player in two seasons to make the three-division leap up to Biggleswade after Solomon Nwabuokei moved to the Bedfordshire team last year.
Nwabuokei impressed with Town sufficiently enough to be picked up by National League South club St Albans City. James-Thompson, who has been with Borough for three seasons, has amassed sixty two appearances, playing mostly in midfield, though he has at times been deployed as part of a back four.
Enfield Borough’s co-founder Aaron Archer was delighted to see James-Thompson get his chance to play at a higher level.
He said: “This is a proud moment for me personally as Kayne’s Godfather. I think his time at Enfield Borough has been harder than for other players of similar ability due to the fact that I Intentionally didn't show favouritism towards him to build his character which in an essential part of football.
"I hope he can take this opportunity, display his undoubted ability and progress up the football pyramid."
