Enfield Town have added a number of provisional games to their pre-season fixture list following last week’s announcement that they will play FC United of Manchester.

That match, to be played on Friday, July 12, will be for the Brian Lomax Cup, which is an annual fixture held between two fan-owned clubs and has previously been won by Football League side AFC Wimbledon, and is currently held by Town after their win against Clapton Community.

The fixture against FC United will be Enfield’s first of their pre-season schedule and, four days later, they will also host Chelmsford City at the QEII Stadium, with a 7.45pm kick-off scheduled for that game.

The National League South side finished fourth in the table under Rod Stringer but were defeated 3-2 by Welling United in their play-off semi-final.

On Saturday, July 20, Town will have their first away game of pre-season when they visit Bostik League North side Grays Athletic, with the game to be held at Aveley FC.

Enfield hold a slight edge over Grays in terms of their past fixtures, winning the last two matches 3-1 and 2-0 respectively before the Gravelmen were relegated from the Bostik Premier Division.

Next up for Enfield following that match will be another trip on the road, this time to St Ives Town, who finished 13th in the Evo-Stik League South Premier Division Central this season. That game will be played on Saturday, July 27.

The following Tuesday will see Town face another away match against Essex Senior League outfit Barking at 7.45pm and they will conclude their schedule at home to Royston Town on Saturday, August 3.

The Bostik Premier Division season is due to start the following week on Saturday, August 10 and Enfield will be hoping to improve on their 10th-place finish having been on course for a play-off spot going into the latter part of the season.
