Simon Hooper will take charge of Watford’s fixture at home to Wolverhampton Wanderers this Saturday.
Hooper, from Wiltshire, has overseen three Hornets games so far this season, but this weekend will be his first at Vicarage Road.
The 36-year-old was in charge for the 1-1 draw against Southampton in November, the stalemate with Brighton on February 2 and the excellent 5-1 success over Cardiff City on February 22, leaving Javi Gracia’s side unbeaten when Hooper has been in charge.
Having operated mostly in the Football League this season, Hooper has only had seven Premier League games in which to dish out cards.
So far, he has not awarded any reds and has issued the second-least number of yellows with 15.
