Due to their opponents’ injury problems, Enfield Borough’s attempts to improve on last season’s 10-place finish were hindered.

Borough were due to host Winslow United on Easter Monday, but the game had to be cancelled due to the third-place outfit only having six players fit and available for selection.

Their game on Saturday, however, did go ahead, and Borough came away from FC Broxbourne Borough with a point after a 2-2 draw.

Enfield fell behind to Dillon Lee’s penalty in the first half, and they went into the break behind with that being the only score of the first period.

However, they restored parity soon after the restart when Guy Kiangebeni latched onto Deniz Karakaya’s chipped ball forward and prodded home his first goal of the season.

Josh Ramejkis restored Broxbourne’s lead when he seized upon a fumble by Brandon Walsh, but Kiangebeni doubled his and Enfield’s tally for the afternoon when he hammered home a loose ball after the hosts failed to clear a free-kick.

That’s the way it stayed, and Borough now have just two leagues games remaining this season – away at Wodson Park this Saturday before the rearranged meeting with Winslow.
