Enfield Ignatians ended their eight-match losing streak in London 2 North West with a 24-20 win away at Welwyn.
The win lifts Ignatians off the bottom of the table, putting Letchworth Garden City into the league’s only relegation spot.
A poor start led to the visitors being 12-0 down after 35 minutes, but Liam Dunne’s converted try before the break put them in good stead to start a comeback.
Welwyn went further ahead from a penalty after the break, tries from Wes Warren and Jake Bates brought Ignatians back into it, but Welwyn went over again.
However, Enfield rallied Cairo Sango’s, followed by a successful conversion and penalty from Bates, just pushed them over the line to a 24-20 win.
Ignatians can out further distance between themselves and Letchworth this Saturday when they host Chiswick.
