Southgate kept pace with Old Georgians and Oxted at the top of the East Conference as they edged out Teddington 1-0.

The match proved to be tight affair with Teddington enjoying the majority of possession in the first half, forcing several fine saves from Chris Rae in the Southgate goal.

The interval gave Southgate the chance to adjust their game plan, and they started the second half in much brighter fashion, making the breakthrough just four minutes after the interval when Joe Sterlini converted a well-worked penalty corner.

Teddington pushed forward looking for the equaliser as the half progressed, but the Southgate defence held firm with Rae again being forced into action again to deny the home side, keeping a clean sheet and ensuring three points for the visitors.

Southgate welcome Cambridge City to Trent Park on Saturday as they look to edge closer to promotion.
