Enfield Ignatians remain bottom of London 2 North West after Hammersmith & Fulham inflicted their eighth straight defeat with a 41-22 result.

Two tries from Liam Dunne as well as singular scores for Ben Mills and Jack O’Toole did at least give Ignatians a bonus point for scoring four tries, but they are still one point from safety.

They started badly and fell 12-0 behind in the first 15 minutes as the hosts capitalised from a defensive mix-up, but the visitors rallied and tries from Dunne and Mills had them level at the interval.

Ignatians came off the rails on the second half, though, and a combination of indiscipline and inability to hold possession saw the Hammers smash the 40-point barrier.

To their credit, however, the away side went for it again as Dunne went over once more, as did O’Toole for the first time, to reduce the deficit enough to claim a bonus point.

Ignatians’ next game sees them travel to Welwyn on Saturday, March 2.
