Ronnie O'Sullivan's hopes of making it back-to-back title triumphs were ended as Judd Trump ended his year-long trophy drought in style with a 9-7 victory in the final of the Northern Ireland Open.
The Chigwell star had been aiming to follow up his Champion of Champions triumph the previous week but was beaten in a thrilling encounter in Belfast.
There was never more than one frame between the two players as they reached the interval all-square at 4-4.
A break of 134 saw O'Sullivan take a 7-6 lead after the resumption but world number five Trump then won three frames in succession to claim the Alex Higgins Trophy and £70,000 first prize with his first victory in 13 months.
