Enfield Town Ladies secured their passage through to the FA WNL Cup proper after winning a thrilling tie 4-2 at Chesham United Ladies in the determining round of the competition.

They had to show plenty of character to progress through the qualifying stage though, as it was hosts Chesham who grabbed an early lead at the Meadow.

However Town’s responded well and they went in at the break all-square thanks to Tia Bailey’s leveller from Molly Peters’ cross.

Enfield grabbed the lead early in the second half thanks to a jinking run and finish from Gracie Degooyer with her first for the club to make it 2-1.

With 12 minutes to go, Chesham netted the goal that, at that stage, would have set up extra-time with the scores all square at 2-2.

But another effort from Degooyer after 85 minutes and one in added time from Peters ensured Enfield’s progress.
