It was a mixed weekend for Enfield Ignatians with only their second and third XVs in action following a late cancellation for the firsts.
The Ignatians’ second XV fell to a 52-33 defeat against Hackney at Donkey Lane but their Thirds had better fortunes as they edged out Hanwell 19-17.
There were appearances from first teamers Ben Mills, Jordan Wilson, Carl Asare-Anderson and Ryan Browne, who all missed the 29-10 victory over Braintree on August 24.
But Enfield were left counting the cost of an awful start against Hackney as they found themselves trailing 26-0 after just 15 minutes of play.
However, they scored five tries of their own in a losing effort courtesy of two apiece from Brown and Eron Dottin-Wilson and one from Finlay MacKay.
Meanwhile for the Thirds, tries from Sam Barnes, Ted Stewart and Femi Adeosun proved the difference as Enfield squeezed past Hanwell by two points.
