Enfield Borough maintained their lead at the top of Spartan South Midlands League Division One with a comprehensive 5-2 win at Hatfield Town on Saturday.
Despite not playing at their best, Borough managed to follow up Tuesday’s 4-0 win at Ampthill Town with another three points and took their tally of goals to 20 in the last four matches.
After falling behind in the second minute, the visitors were soon back on terms when Allie Bangura set up Isaac Stevens to equalise.
Borough took the lead just before the quarter-hour when Brandon Mckenna fired under the keeper, and after Sivi Bao had seen his penalty saved Enfield did score a third after 35 minutes when Bangura bundled home after the keeper had spilt a Jamiah Lawrence-Plentie free-kick.
Enfield did convert from 12 yards after the restart when Lawrence-Plentie scored after Franklin Domi had been brought down, and Tage Kennedy was to make it 5-1 from another spot-kick after Stevens was felled.
Hatfield pulled one back after 72 minutes but they were to finish the game with 10 men following a sending off.
