Jodie Bellinger celebrated her 18th birthday with a hat-trick as Enfield Town Ladies opened their season with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Norwich City Ladies on Sunday.
A nervous start saw the Canaries take the lead from a corner, but Town levelled when Molly Peters’ pace took her clear and she unselfishly set up Bellinger for her first.
Enfield were to go in front before the interval when Peters again set up Bellinger, before the teenager completed her hat-trick thanks to a third assist from her teammate.
With Norwich beginning to tire, Danielle Smith netted a fourth when her whipped in delivery from a corner beat everyone before finding its way into the net.
After Town keeper Kerrie Marlborough had saved a penalty, Enfield rounded off a fine start to the season when Isa Angus chased down a long ball to net the fifth.
