Botany Bay battled to a four-wicket win over West Herts in the Herts Championship on Saturday.

West Herts batted first and failed to impress as they were dismissed for just 113. Darren James returned figures of four for 40 while Tim Richards claimed two for 28 and Michael Harris claimed two for 17.

Botany Bay got off to a slow start to their innings but Paul Summerskill made an important contribution of 47. Danny Muschamp added 20 as the side reached the target for the loss of six wickets in 34.1 overs.

Botany Bay Seconds’ winning run came to an end after a 33-run defeat to Parkfield & Headstone in Division Six A.

Parkfield scored 201 all out and this proved too much for Botany Bay as they were bowled out for 168 in 45.2 overs.

Holtwhites Trinibis fell to an 11-run defeat to Preston in Division Two A.

Preston batted first and reached a total of 167 all out from 52.2 overs. In reply, Holtwhites were dismissed for 156 in 34.4 overs.

The Seconds claimed a rare win with a 38-run victory over St Margaretsbury Seconds.

In a low-scoring contest, Holtwhites were all out for 82 in 29 overs. But the side decimated their opponents as St Margaretsbury were skittled out for 44 in 23.2 overs.

North Enfield made it five wins from six matches after a 104-run win over Baldock in Division Three A.

Batting first, North Enfield scored 200 for seven from their innings. Baldock had no answer in reply as they were bowled out for 96 in 30.1 overs.

In Division Six B, North Enfield Seconds lost by three wickets to Boxmoor. The side scored 203 for eight from their innings, but Boxmoor managed to get past this score for the loss of seven wickets.
