Channel 4 has announced that it will be airing a new reality series called Rise and Fall that comes from the makers of The Traitors.

Radio presenter and author Greg James has revealed that he will be the host of the show, which he shared in a video posted on his Twitter account.

He said: "This is an announcement and I'm very excited to tell you that I am the host of a new reality TV show on Channel fall called Rise and Fall.

"It's made by the same people that did The Traitors, so you know it's gonna be good."

James went on to explain that the game is all about "winning power" and will feature 16 contestants from all walks of life.

One of the contestants will walk away with an "enormous cash prize" as part of it.

James added: "It's on Channel 4 very soon, that is all I'm allowed to say!

"But what I can say is that it will be good and I'd like you all to watch."

What exactly will Channel 4's Rise and Fall be about?

In a statement on their press site, Channel 4 said: "Sixteen ordinary British people, from all walks of life and ages, will begin the game as equals but soon find themselves either in a position of power as a Ruler or as part of the powerless as a Grafter.

"While the Rulers live in an opulent penthouse, the Grafters must survive in basic conditions in the basement. And much like life, those in power will be responsible for making decisions that affect those who have none.

"Greg James will oversee the action as the Grafters work hard to complete a series of gruelling games and challenges to build a cash prize fund only the Rulers can win. The Rulers must encourage the Grafters to work harder, but if they push them too hard, they might find themselves toppled from power."

Anyone will be able to rise to a position of power and fall, with one Ruler at the end being able to claim the cash prize.
