A couple who celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on the same boat they toasted their marriage vows have recreated the scene.

Peter and Suzanne Simpkin, who live in Green Lanes in Enfield, celebrated the special day with friends and family on a river cruiser called The Elizabethan on Thursday, June 7.

The venue was made even more special as the Middleton family spent the day on board during the jubilee marking the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Peter Simpkin, 70, said: “The photos will hang together pride of place in our house. When I first saw the picture, I thought ‘I don’t know where my hair has gone.’”

The pair, who celebrated with 100 guests, were worried they might lose a few as they only had a 15-minute slot to get all of their guests on board.

Although they nearly lost four guests who were a little late, the boat waited and the evening event went ahead without a glitch.
