The first stage of a public hearing to address the future of the North London Waste Plan starts this morning.
The meeting, which begins at 10am in Camden Town Hall in Judd Street, will discuss proposals to build a major waste plant in Pinkham Way in Frien Barnet and Muswell Hill.
Campaigners are opposing the current plans put forward by the North London Waste Authority, as they are concerned the plant would affect air quality for people living in north London as well as bring increased traffic to the North Circular Road.
If the development goes ahead, Pinkham Way would deal with waste from seven boroughs across north London - Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, Hackney, Islington and Waltham Forest.
