Enfield’s Carers Centre is hosting a special action-packed week for all those who care for loved ones with disabilities or life-limiting illnesses.

Carers Week is a national annual event that will take place from Monday, June 18 to Sunday, June 24.

This year, the theme is In Sickness and In Health, and aims to help carers who feel as though their health and wellbeing is being affected by the round-the-clock care they provide.

Pamela Burke, chief executive at the centre said: “Anyone caring for a family member, partner or friend with a disability or illness is a carer, and deserves recognition for the tireless and essential support they give - whether physical or emotional.

“Carers often put their own health needs last and this can eventually result in their own wellbeing suffering."

Throughout the week, the centre will hold free lunches, yoga classes for beginners and therapy taster sessions, a day trip to Clacton in Essex, and a free guided tour of Enfield’s Myddelton Gardens.

To end the week, there will be a party for carers on Saturday, June 23.
