Fraudsters who used their relatives’ blue badges illegally have been fined by magistrates.
A trio of offenders appeared before Enfield Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, taking the total prosecuted by Enfield Council’s parking team up to 203 this year.
Ellias Barberis, of Belcher Lane, Nazeing, was fined £575 for using his wife’s badge to park at a café in Tottenhall Road, Palmers Green, on January 25, while she was shopping in Golders Green.
Abdul Rahim, of Chesterfield Gardens, Tottenham, was fined £200 for using his mother’s badge to park in Chase Side, Southgate, on February 14, while Rose Delaney, of Scotland Green Road, Enfield, was convicted of using her son’s pass while he was at school and made to pay £640.
Cabinet member for environment, Councillor Chris Bond, said abusing a disabled parking pass was an “outrageous abuse”.
