SOME of the last bendy buses operating on the streets of London have been taken out of service.
The controversial single-decker buses were replaced this weekend on the 29, which terminates in Wood Green and the N29, which carries on to Enfield Town, by double-decker buses.
Transport for London says the change will mean more frequent services for passengers in Enfield and Haringey.
The eradication of the bendy bus from London is a policy of Mayor of London Boris Johnson, with only the 207 bus route still to be changed, due in December.
TfL also says the change will save around £7m which otherwise would have been lost through fare evasion.
