THE NEW Bishop of Edmonton led his flock in worship for the first time at Alexandra Palace on Saturday.
The Right Rev Peter Wheatley held his inaugural Eucharist at a special pre-millennium service.
Bishop Wheatley took on the role following the death of the previous bishop, Brian Masters.
About 1,000 people from over 1,000 parishes in North London converged on the palace in Wood Green for the service.
It was part of On The Way - a procession by parishioners round the boundaries of Enfield, Haringey, Barnet and Camden.
