CHARITY cyclist Paul Donovan is heading to Vietnam later this year to raise money for people with drug and alcohol problems.
Paul, 42, is hoping to raise £2,300 for the charity Addaction by riding 600 kilometres in six days -- the largest UK charity cycle ride this year.
Paul said: "I have seen how devastating drugs can be. For me, this sponsored ride is a brilliant way to contribute something practical to the local community, as well as being a unique adventure."
He will be part of a team of 50 cyclists starting along the South China Sea coast and heading inland through national park and rain forest, and climbing 5,000 feet up the central Highlands.
Paul added: "Having not cycled for 25 years, I'm now doing about 50 miles a week. It's hurting already."
Paul is grateful for any local support. For any details on sponsorship contact him on 0181 805 5979.
