ENRAGED protesters have stormed Haringey Civic Centre causing injury to a policewoman.
The demonstrators broke through glass as police officers tried to hold back the baying mob.
After stampeding officers out the way, the crowd ran into the council chamber chanting "no more cuts".
In a show of bravey, Haringey Council leader Claire Kober came out to meet the mob and said: "I want to have this meeting in public, I want you to be here".
Her speech was met with chants of "resign, resign resign" as protesters climbed on furniture and made themselves comfortable in the chair usually reserved for the mayor.
Eyewitnesses described how the female officer was crying "please let me go" as protesters grabbed her hat.
She was left in floods of tears after the shake-up.
One of the protesters, Florent Giehmaa, 33, who lives in Haringey, said: "We are sick of these cuts, so we're here to let the councillors know how angry we are."
Former council leader George Meehan said: "I can understand why people are angry, but I think the thing is there are better ways to make a point."
