SPORTING heroes in Enfield will be celebrated at a special event next month.
Awards will be handed to the borough's top athletes and also those who volunteer or coach.
Nominees have been recommended by residents, teachers, pupils, sports clubs and sporting enthusiasts.
Enfield councillor Bambos Charalambous, cabinet member for sport, leisure and Olympics, said: "We want to thank people of all ages and abilities for their hard work and dedication.
"By celebrating their efforts we are ensuring that the pleasure and enjoyment that they give and the pride that they generate will encourage even more people to take part in sports."
The presentation will take place at Lea Valley High School and Sports College on Tuesday, March 22.
