REALTIVES of a woman who lived in station houses around Enfield are inviting her long-lost friends to her funeral this month.

Doreen Ellen Knight, a mother of three, died aged 79 on August 22 after a suffering a stroke in July.

Her son Stephen wants to invite her friends from the borough, many who will not have seen her for over 15 years, to her funeral in Great Clacton this month.

Mrs Knight and husband William, a train driver based at Stratford, lived in Bush Hill Park station and then Brimsdown station between 1961 and 1996, when they moved to Great Clacton to retire.

She will be remembered by her co-workers at pharmaceutical company Vestric and Thorn Electrical Industries at Southbury Road, as well as from the congregation of St James’ Church on Hertford Road, of which she was an active member.

The couple had three sons, Stephen, Martin and Timothy, ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Her funeral will be held at St Marks Church at 1.15pm in Great Clacton, Lymington Ave C015 4PJ on September 8. Visitors can see her by arrangement between Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 4pm by calling 01255 222899.
