A PENSIONER was left with injuries to his face after being mugged in a busy shopping centre.
The attack on the 76-year-old, whose mobile phone was taken, is thought to have been carried out by two men this morning at about 12.15am.
Police found the elderly man at Chase Side in Southgate suffering from head and face injuries, though his condition is now non-life threatening.
He is still being treated in hospital.
The man told police he thinks the attack was carried out by two men in a silver or light coloured vehicle who left the scene immediately after assaulting the man.
No-one has been arrested.
The area has been cordoned off while police gather evidence.
