A GREEN-FINGERED nurse who had three window boxes stolen from outside her house has appealed for their return.
The rectangular wicker boxes were filled with pansies and were swiped some time between 9.30pm and 7.30am this morning from Uckfield Road, Enfield Lock.
Wendy Riley, a retired nurse who worked at both Chase Farm and North Middlesex Hospitals, said the boxes were a present from a family member about two years ago and had "sentimental value."
She said: "I usually check them to see if the need watering or feeding in the morning. Since I was eight it has been my passion. They can keep the flowers if they want but I would like to have the boxes back so I can plant them up for next year. Obviously somebody decided they would rather have the flowers themselves than share them with the neighbourhood."
