POLICE believe that a 16-year-old stabbed yesterday at Edmonton Green bus station was involved in a fight with between six and ten youths.
The boy is now in a critical but stable condition in an East London hospital after being stabbed in the stomach, while a 14-year-old boy was arrested but later released with no further action.
The incident happened at about 4.30pm yesterday as schoolchildren were going home from school.
A statement released from Edmonton police said: “The circumstances of the stabbing are unclear at this stage but it is believed that the victim had just got onto a bus when he became involved in an altercation with between six and 10 youths which may have spilled out into the area of the bus station."
