A SENIOR nurse has been found guilty of stealing class-A drugs from Chase Farm Hospital.
Anne Marie Whitehead was convicted at Wood Green Crown Court on Friday of 11 counts of stealing pethadine from the hospital in The Ridgeway, Enfield.
She was arrested last April after an allegation of possession of class-A drugs with intent to supply. Two months later she was charged with 13 counts of theft of pethadine.
A statement from the Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals NHS Trust said: "The trust can confirm that a member of nursing staff was dismissed on the grounds of gross misconduct and reported to the police for theft of controlled drugs.
"The case has now concluded at Wood Green Crown Court with the individual having been found guilty on 11 counts of theft and fraud."
Whitehead was remanded on bail last week and will return to court on March 12, when she will be sentenced.
