Youngsters were joined by Spurs legend Ledley King for an art session as part of his campaign about discrimination having “no place in football”.

Activities were organised for his visit to Duke’s Aldridge Academy school in Tottenham, as part of the programme to educate the youngster generation about racism.

The art session was arranged by former soccer coach-turned-artist Emmely Elgersma and was supported by the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation.

“The Premier League has a powerful voice to help educate people,” Ledley said. “It’s important we use our platform as a Premier League club to educate young people so they understand how to deal with discrimination.”

The pupils came up with their own drawings during Ledley’s visit on the idea of educating the youngster generation about diversity in sport.

One pupil at the Trulock Road school asked the soccer icon if racism had ever stopped him achieving his goals.

What he had experienced only made him stronger and more determined, he explained. It was his inspiration.

The Spurs’ Foundation’s Belvin Lewis, who was nameds the Club’s No Room For Racism Icon earlier this season and accompanied Ledley King on the visit, said: “This campaign is close to my heart having grown up in this area.

“The pupils’ told us what inspired their amazing drawings, that it doesn’t matter where you’re from or what colour you are.”

He said you can make a difference through education, which Tottenham Hotspur was doing in the community.

The Foundation is running Easter holiday camps as part of its Premier League Kicks programme that has helped tens-of-thousands of young people over the years.

The programme uses sport to inspire youngsters to reach their potential, in some of the most high-need areas like Tottenham. It is one way the Premier League is encouraging diversity in football.

Ledley King, now 45, spent his entire career with Spurs and played in 323 competitive matches from 1999 to 2012.

He also made 21 international appearances for England, scoring twice and representing the country at UEFA Euro in 2004 and the 2010 Fifa World Cup.
