Mental health workers have been officially praised for “high-quality care” to their patients at St Ann’s Hospital in Tottenham.
Three wards at the newly-opened Blossom Court inpatient facility have been accredited by the Royal College of Psychiatrists — just before World Mental Health day today (October 10).
The accreditation for North London Mental Health Partnership recognizes clinical care and quality of the centre’s therapeutic environment.
“The accreditation is a milestone for the community,” the partnership’s Haringey managing director Gary Passaway said. “This is no mean feat, after years of hard work by our staff.”
Official visits were made to Blossom Court by the Royal College who interviewed staff, patients and relatives about the service.
The new facility opened in 2020 replaced the outdated Victorian wards. Staff working to meet 200 different standards required to gain accreditation showed “best practice” in trauma, informed care and community engagement which met the standards.
