Motorists are set to be prevented from using a turn in a major road in north London due to roadworks.

A notice from Transport for London in this week’s edition of the Enfield and Haringey Independent details plans to prevent vehicles from entering or exiting the gap in the A10 Great Cambridge Road, opposite the entrance of Edmonton County School, to enable alterations to be made to the layout of the central reservation.

The order will be effective from June 6 to December 6 or when the works have been completed, whichever is the sooner.

The restrictions will only apply at those times indicated by road signs.

The alternative route when the closure is in place will be, for northbound traffic, via Trinity Avenue, St Mark’s Road, Main Avenue and Great Cambridge Road; and for drivers heading southbound via Bury Street, Harrow Drive, Bury Street and Great Cambridge Road.

Separately, notices from Enfield Council detail plans to temporarily shut roads in and around Enfield for works, including one for more than a month.

Ashley Road EN3 is due to be closed at its junction with Green Street from May 9 for ten days.

Bideford Road is then set to be shut between its junctions with Bilton Way and Marrilyne Avenue for 45 days from May 23.

Before then, Green Road N14 is due to be closed at its junction with Reservoir Road for two days from Tuesday.

St Malo Avenue N9 is set to be temporarily shut between its junction with Town Road and the common boundary of Nos. 36 and 38 from May 16 for 25 days.
