A 21-year-old man has been jailed for 11 years after he stabbed a man in the chest after breaking into a cannabis factory.

Four other men have also been sent to prison following the death of Skender Ismaili in Lytton Avenue, near Brimsdown, in 2020.

The 30-year-old suffered a single stab wound to the chest after being attacked by Ali Coulibaly in the early hours of July 17.

The Metropolitan Police say the incident happened while five men, including Coulibaly, were burgling a cannabis factory.

On December 15 2021, Coulibaly, of Atkinson Road, E16, pleaded guilty to manslaughter and aggravated burglary. He was jailed following a sentencing hearing at Woolwich Crown Court on March 11 for 11 years.

Four other men have also been sent down after admitting to aggravated burglary.

Mason Harris-Williams, 26, Daniel Fletcher, 21, and Jazeel Lewis, 29, all from Ealing in west London, were jailed for six years and four months, five years, and seven years respectively.

Ahmed Yamac, 21, of Feltham in south west London, received a five years and five months sentence.

Haseeb Nadeem, 31, of Raynes Park, west London, received a two year suspended sentence for assisting an offender.

Following the sentencings, Detective Inspector Neil Cramer, from the Met's specialist crime, said: "As a result of a painstaking investigation, five people were charged in connection with either the killing of Skender Ismaili or the associated burglary at Lytton Avenue. A sixth was charged with assisting an offender.

"Such was the weight of evidence against them, they had no option but to enter guilty pleas.

"Mr Ismaili paid too great a price for his involvement in the cultivation of cannabis at the property. Anyone who buys illegal drugs should reflect on this human cost when considering the choices they make around drug use."
