The speed limit is set to be reduced on a major road through Enfield and Haringey.

A notice from Transport for London in this week’s edition of the Enfield Independent details plans to cut the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph on a section of the A10 Great Cambridge Road.

The notice does not state when the new limit is due to take effect but it is set to apply between White Hart Lane and a point south of the A406 Great Cambridge Junction and all Greater London Authority side roads.

Meanwhile, Enfield Council has placed a number of notices detailing temporary street closures while roadworks are carried out, starting next week.

Part of Mollison Avenue EN3 is set to be shut for seven nights from Monday between 10pm and 5am each day for utility works.

The road is due to be closed from its junction with Hertford Road EN8 for approximately 75m eastbound, to the entrance of OMA Film Studios.

The alternative route will be via A1010 Hertford Road, A110 Nags Head Road, A110 Lea Valley Road, A1055 Mollison Avenue and vice versa.

A section of Ingersoll Road EN3 is also due to be closed for five days from Monday for utility works.

The road will be shut at a point approximately 25m from its junction with Hertford Road and the diversion will be via Hertford Road, Riley Road, Elmore Road and vice versa.

Hoppers Road N21, between its junctions with Stonard Road and Arundel Gardens, is due to be closed for two days from Tuesday for utility works.

The alternative route will be via Hoppers Road, Bourne Hill, Woodland Way, Downes Court, Hoppers Road and vice versa.

The following day, Wednesday, Bridgenhall Road EN1 is set to be shut for one day, again for utility works.

The road will be closed between the boundaries of Nos. 42 and 44 and Nos. 46 and 48 and the diversion will be via Russell Road, Carterhatch Lane, Layard Road and vice versa.

Highway improvement works are set to close parts of two roads in EN1 from 8am to 6pm on October 29.

Chalkwell Park Avenue is set to be shut between its junction with Lincoln Road and a point in line with the northern wall of No. 15 Chalkwell Park Avenue, while Roseneath Walk will be closed to vehicles at its junction with Chalkwell Park Avenue.
