A television actor surprised students ahead of their School of Rock production.

Rudolph Walker, who has starred in EastEnders since 2001, met students from Oasis Academy Enfield.

The soap star was warmly welcomed at the Academy Referral Centre by the cast involved in the academy's production.

He spent time with the students talking about his own career as well as providing motivation and encouragement to those seeking a career in the film, television, or theatre industry.

Mr Walker took the time to give some feedback after watching their rehearsals of School of Rock and was complimentary of pupils including Norma-May in year 9, who he described as "bright and enthusiastic", and Wendy from year 7 who was described by Mr Walker as a "leader."

Enfield Independent:

Anthony Williams, principal at Oasis Academy Enfield, was hugely excited to have the EastEnders star and is looking forward to seeing him return one day.

Mr Williams added: "Mr Walker allowed our students to see that anything is possible if you put your mind to it and work hard."
