Residents and their visitors at a care home were invited to put on their dancing shoes and enjoy live music for World Music Day.

Hugh Myddelton House care home in Enfield says it went “all out” for the annual celebration which is observed on June 21 each year.

The care home hired the services of professional entertainer Ian James, who put on a show for staff, residents and their friends and family.

Ramona Stanciu, General Manager at Hugh Myddelton House, said: “It is great to be able to have some live entertainment for our residents.  We have really missed being able to welcome performers into our home during lockdown and World Music Day was the perfect day to do it.

“Although we’ve had lots of virtual concerts, quizzes and talks.  It’s lovely to be able to host events again and the atmosphere was fantastic.”

Charles, a resident at Hugh Myddelton House, said: “Staff here have been brilliant throughout lockdown putting on all kind of different events to keep us entertained, we have been very well looked after but it is lovely to have some live entertainment again.  It feels like another step on the road back to normality.”
